Our commitment
As a public sector body we are required by the European Union (Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies) Regulations 2020, S.I. No. 358/2020 to make this website accessible.
This website has been built to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA, the standard referenced by EN 301 549.
What we have done
- Every combination of text and background colour on the site has been checked for contrast and passes WCAG AA.
- The site works with the keyboard alone and the page order read by a screen reader matches the visual order.
- Text resizes without the layout breaking and the site is built to be used one-handed on a phone.
- Images carry text alternatives and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Movement on the page respects the reduced-motion setting on your device.
- Headings, landmarks and link text are written so the page can be navigated without seeing it.
Known limitations
Some documents published on this site are PDFs produced by outside bodies and we cannot always guarantee that those files are fully accessible. If you need any document on this site in another format, ring the office and we will get it to you.
