Ben De Barra was shortlisted and won for his short scene script in the Bord Gáis Student Theatre Awards 2017.
He wrote a beautifully touching story about an old man who tended to a communal garden and how he also brought a small community together. He then re-wrote it into a script. It was judged by Stephen Faloon( manager of Bord Gáis) and Sinéad Moriarty ( Novelist). The whole class was invited to the award ceremony. We were so excited to just go but we were elated as Ben’s name was called out as the overall winner in his category. His classmates, parents and entire school are so proud of him.
